Small businesses often make the mistake of trying to be everything to everyone at once. They try to position themselves as a solution to any problem and as an answer to any need of the consumer. But success can be much faster if you reduce your passion a little.

Often, advertising of small businesses reflects the desire to be everything for everyone. When even business cards and brochures of such enterprises are made in a “flashy” style, almost in a hurry, trying to fit all possible information about the company on a small piece of paper.

The simple truth is that there is not and cannot be a business that offers everything and for everyone. Trying to be such an “all-offering” company, you risk ruining your business. The key point is to correctly find your niche – your place in the business world – and concentrate all your strength and advertising on promoting your business in this particular niche. How to find “your place in the sun”? And then how to use it?

Find your company’s distinctive feature.
Every person in this world is unique (even twins). In each of us there is something that distinguishes us from everyone else in this world. The same thing happens in the business world. Even if your company is in a saturated market, there is at least one thing that distinguishes your company from any other. Something makes it unique.

And whatever it is, find it. Find the needs of buyers for which there are no offers yet. Think of a way to meet these needs, fill out this pass. If your company is the first of its kind, which offers to solve the unsolved problem, consider that you have found your niche. And even more than that, now you can build your own empire in this niche.

Reach Your Customers
Now that you know what your consumer wants and how to satisfy his need, you need to bring it directly to your customer. Buyers are not going to go to you just like that, you need to bring them up to date – what exactly your company will meet their needs. Be determined to “get” customers for your business.

Destroy your “all for all” pages, leave only the highlight of your business. Make sure your business cards and brochures are very clear and accessible. Everything on these small paper flyers should underline your new place in the business world – your niche. Do not try to contain everything that you want to tell the client. Otherwise, information overload will cause consumers to ignore your message. Use only what your customers say about their unmet need and about your ability to fix it.

Do not forget about the sequence
Remember that it is better slowly but surely than in a hurry and at random. Hurry – make people laugh. Think over each of your next step. When you have decided on your niche and attracted customers, do not forget to continue all the new ways to please the consumer. And in search of regular buyers, be sure to ask how are those who have already addressed you. Thus, you will provide an incredibly strong foundation for your business empire, and not having built walls, there is nothing to cling to the roof.
